"three British suspects, have been arrested in Mijas and Torremolinos in connection with the illegal sale of products which were promoted as natural herbal aphrodisiacs, but which were unlicensed for sale in Spain.

It’s understood that the fourth suspect is a Spanish national.

The Civil Guard said in a press release on Monday that the products were brought into Spain unpackaged, and were then packaged as natural products for sale within the province. The main ingredient is labelled as Eurycoma Longifolia, a plant from Indonesia which is said to enhance sexual performance.

Libidus for Women Sexual Enhancer LFW (10 Caps)Operation Stérol confiscated 4,000 capsules of Libidus, Maximus and LFW, all of which the National Agency for Medicaments and Health Products describes as illegal medicaments which are not authorised for sale on the market in Spain.

The Civil Guard said in the press release seen by Europa Press that, although they were sold as a herbal food supplement, they contain some of the main active ingredients of drugs which are used to treat erectile dysfunction, such as in Viagra.

The products were on sale in businesses including health shops, para-pharmacies and sex shops."
