easyJet flight boost for Gibraltar Airport Easier: "As the eagerly awaited £100 million terminal nears completion, easyJet has announced its intention to launch a brand new route into Gibraltar Airport from Liverpool’s John Lennon. The three times a week service, to begin 29 March, will complement easyJet’s existing London Gatwick schedule and compete against Monarch Airlines’ Manchester route – also three times a week.Brian Stevendale, Sales & Marketing Director for Ocean Village, an award-winning mixed-use marina development within literally a few hundred metres of the runway, comments, “With so much expansion underway in Gibraltar at the moment, it comes as little surprise that airlines are keen to cash-in on the Rock’s success. We are experiencing a huge influx of gaming, financial services and entertainment enterprises attracted by Gibraltar’s low-tax environment. Office space is at capacity, so much so that we are building a 15,000m² World Trade Centre to satisfy demand. With global commerce comes international travel and easyJet will have the business traveller in mind as much as the holidaymaker keen to experience Gibraltar’s unique history, culture and warm Mediterranean climate.”"
