Man dies after falling down a gully in Cómpeta

A 55 year old man has died after getting out of his car on a rural road and falling down a gully. It happened at 2.05am this morning on the A-7207 which runs between Torrox and Cómpeta at the six kilometre point. The front wheels of the vehicle he was driving were hanging over an edge and he got out to inspect the situation, and then fell to his death down the gully. The man has been named with the initials FJMGL and the fire service say the drop was some 100m. They brought his body back to the road. There was another occupant in the vehicle, a 42 year old man who was attended to at the scene by the medical team but did not need hospital treatment. He had got out the vehicle and raised the alarm.
