Main Malaya suspect lived 'very well' on 12,000 Euro a month
Main Malaya suspect lived 'very well' on 12,000 Euro a month: "The Malaya hearings recommenced in Málaga on Tuesday and Juan Antonio Roca, the man at the centre of Marbella’s corruption case and the main accused, was the first to take the stand in the second block of proceedings to be dealt with by the court. As with the first block, ‘Operación Crucero Banus’, money laundering is under scrutiny, and this particular sub-section in the sessions now underway is dealing with laundering through companies and operations linked to Roca.
Marbella’s ex municipal real estate assessor admitted that most of the dozens of companies which are under investigation in the case were owned, either totally or partially, by him and were under his control.
He told the court that he had accumulated assets of some 210 million € before Operation Malaya came into play, and lived ‘very well’ on his 12,000 € net monthly income from the Town Hall. He commented that it allowed him to put his children into a good school and take the ‘odd holiday’."
